What should that mean to you?
It means that Jesus is capable of taking care of all your needs. He is your healer, your provider, your protector, your help, and your best friend. It means that you can walk in victory with nothing to fear because He is doing the fighting for you. There are many things that you may be lacking right now. Perhaps you feel sick in your body or loved ones are afflicted with an illness. Maybe your finances are being challenged, it could be your marriage that needs a miracle. The truth is that you cannot change anything. You are fighting to gain control without success because it is not your job. You are called to have faith in the Good Shepherd and leave your worries to Him.
How should you apply this knowledge?
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22
"Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
It is important to remember that God is Omniscient and Omnipresent. He knows everything and He is everywhere. He knows what you are going through and He is with you always. The challenges of this world should not move you because you already knew that they would come. Your job is to bring them at the Shepherd's feet and keep on living a life of faith fully aware that the Good Shepherd will not let you down. If He gave His life for you, there is nothing else He wouldn't do for you. You must know this truth and let your heart be consumed by it. No matter what you see or hear, hold on to that truth.
What should you do now?
The word of God in Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God (the Good Shepherd), to them who are called according to his purpose."
You and I have to put our faith in the Good Shepherd and march on through the challenges of this world with the assurance that we are His and that He will protect us and guide us to green pastures as promised in Psalm 23:2.
Praise the Lord!
