Love & Trust

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, letting it be seen that he is the strong support of those whose hearts are true to him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

Every believer is called to trust in the God who is love. The biblical heroes have one thing in common: They all seek the presence of God diligently. David was a man who loved God and talked to Him regularly. He also ought after God diligently. He cherished the time he spent in God’s presence. H never worried in time of trouble. David had faith in God. He knew with absolute certainty that when he prayed, something (good) was bound to happen. His undeniably love and his faith (in God and not his own ability) would not let him doubt. It was easy for him to trust God because they were in a loving relationship. Some people don’t trust God because they don’t love Him enough. It is easy for the loving heart to trust. Children show their love through obedience. Those who love God do what pleases God, just as children want to please their parents. The Confidence in the sovereignty of God in ALL that affects us is crucial to our trusting Him. Friend, there isn’t a single event in the entire universe that can occur outside of God’s sovereign control. You can rest in the (Rock-solid) truth that God is in control, no matter what happens in your life and in the world around you. The word of God in the above scriptures tells us that God shows support to those who seek him diligently, those who put Him first and those who love Him.

Dear friend, there is a connection between love and trust. Both begins and ends with God. The call for faith and the call for love are really one. God is the only One who is truly faithful and yet it is easier to trust people who break promises and/or don’t meet expectations. Your trust must remain focused on and in God versus them. When you are faced with major challenges, your spouse, parents and friend can only pray but they cannot take any of them away because they are human and fallible. God is Sovereign (Powerful, infallible, immutable, faithful, just, good and loving). He has the ability to change impossible situations. Trusting grows in relationships over time because as you spend time together with someone you build understanding, patience and trust. You gain insight into another person’s heart. Unconditional love develops trust. You can trust God to renew your relationship with Him and others. (Loving God without loving others is impossible). God has the ability to change your heart and even give you a new heart that is perfect toward Him. "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other as He does for you. May he strengthen your hearts!

Praise the Lord!
