Thirsty for God...............

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1

One thing I ask from the LORD,this only do I seek:that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4

Have you ever been thirsty for God? Really thirsty for His presence? When a person is thirsty nothing else matters. He does everything he can to crunch that thirst. The Bible give us a few examples of people who were thirsty for God. We know for sure that David was thirsty for God. He said so. He wrote and sang about it. God satisfy his thirst and even called him a man after His heart. In Luke 8:43-47, we meet the woman with the issue of blood. She suffered for twelve years. Yes, she was thirsty and she heard about Jesus. “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” She pursued Jesus, touched him and she was instantly healed. Who can forget Paul passionate words in Philippians 3: 7-10 "But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death." Wow! Paul was thirsty.

When a person thirst for God, prayer, fasting, praise, worship and even going to church are feverishly pursued. Listen, if you are thirsty you can be completely honest with God. Let God see your brokenness. Be real with God. Tell Him how you really feel.   "I am thirsty as well Lord. I need you Father. Everything is upside down. I don't know where to go. I don't know what to do. I just looked in the mirror and I did not recognized the person who was starring back at me. I am seeking you face Lord. Do not turn from me. Who do I have but you? I need you more than I ever needed you before. Everything seems grey. Don't hide you face from me." He will hear you. He will touch you.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8

Father in the Holy name of Jesus I come to you today. I want to thank you being the Father who cares a great deal about me. I repent for ever putting anyone or anything above you. From now on you are all that I need Father. My soul longs for you. My soul is thirsty for you. Reveal yourself Father. Step in and take control. I surrender to you. I praise you. I honor you for only you are holy and worthy. Amen!

Praise the Lord!

Faith in God.............

Again, I say to you, that if two of you are in agreement on earth about anything for which they will make a request, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19

Does God really mean such promise? The only way we can grasp the meaning of a promise like this or any of His promises is if we have real wisdom, "and if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him". (James 1:5). Why would He make such promise? He did simply because He loves us. God is love. He is motivated by love. It is almost impossible to trust His selfless love because we are not familiar with it here on earth. Now, "Quid Pro Quo", you do this for me, and I will do that for you is something we understand. We are always looking for motivation hidden behind a behavior. You and I should understand that God is dependable. He has power to keep His promises. He doesn't lie. He doesn't change. People chosen by God who accomplished something for Him chose to believe His promises. You can and should rely on His love and His infinite Wisdom. Moses trusted God and knew Him well because he said "God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?" (Numbers 23:19). What did God say in the last book of the Old Testament? "I the Lord do not change" (Malachi 3:6).

Now, the promise of giving you what two of you agree on is a promise that God will keep because God is the “Promise Keeper” and He keeps all of His promises. If you don't have anyone to share this promise with, ask God to send someone to you. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive" (Matthew 21:22) Pray with them for their specific need. They'll pray for yours. You may count us at Bible Tour your prayer partners, too, if you wish. His promises are powerful, because of His love.

Trusting is not something that comes naturally to us. It has to be attained. We go through life experiencing certain hurts and disappointments (cause by those who are supposed to love us), and they leave certain scars and a bad taste in our mouths. These disappointments need to be recognized and be released if we are to learn to trust.

Can we all trust God? Really trust Him? Can we trust Him with our hearts, our resources, our relationships? our lives and our souls? Absolutely! God can be and should be trusted. There was nobody before God and there will be nobody after God. He is the Alpha and The Omega. He had no predecessor. He will have no successor. He is the source of all things. He is all things. He is the giver of life. He is life. He is the joy out of every sorrow. He is the light of every darkness. He's the peace that passes all understanding. He is the giver of every good and perfect gift. You can trust that He will keep all of His promises. Friend, you can and should trust God. He will keep His promise to you. He is the Ultimate Promise Keeper.

Praise the Lord!
