Dealing with Confusion



2 Timothy 2:7 - Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

1 Corinthians 14:33 - For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5).

Have you ever felt confused or conflicted? People will face times of transition. It is not always clear which decisions should be made when facing various alternatives. Confusion can be very perplexing. I personally don’t enjoy feeling puzzled. My mother used to say that the answer to every question is in the Bible. I learned from a young age that our lives should be guided by the voice of God and that the Holy Spirit is needed to decipher the word of God and the sinful voice of our hearts

Although life offers many options, the word of God never changes. It is always the same. Once you apply the word in your situations clarity is inevitable because God is not a God of confusion but He is a God of Order. Some may not want to acknowledge it but did not set itself in an orderly manner. How did the Earth know to rotate on its axis at a tilt of 23 degrees in order to permit the surface of the earth to be tilled and makes the change of seasons possible?

The wisdom of God id what you and I need to navigate to the decisions that we face. How do we get the wisdom of God? Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

I think that the mistake you and I make is that we do not invite God to our dealings. We wait until things get out of hand and then we try to manipulate God into changing things to our advantage. The key is for you and I to live our lives by biblical principles and make God part of our daily living. God is not a bystander. God is a loving Father. He is interested in every part of our lives. He cares about the big and the small decisions.  Listen, when God is part of your decision making process there will be no chance of confusion.

This is what the Bible has to say about the wisdom of God:
“With Him are wisdom and power; To Him belong counsel and understanding” (job 12:13).

For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth (come) Knowledge and understanding (proverbs 2:6).

“Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him” (Daniel 2:20).

Dear friend listen, who should you marry? What school should you attend? How much should you spend? Should you borrow any more money to invest in this project? Which job should you take? The voices of the world can loudly be heard but the voice of the Lord is the voice of reason and wisdom. It can only be heard when you turn off the noise. Bring your confusion to the Lord. Bring your life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. My friend, don’t ever forget that God loves you. He does not want you to suffer the agony of a conflicted heart. He wants to deliver you. God cares about you. Why else would He send His only Son to die for your sin?

I am living you with the following verse: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
