Peace that Surpasses Understanding......

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will HAVE TROUBLE. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33).

Let's follow Paul's advice which he gave in two places: 1) "Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another." (Romans 14:19.). 2) "Pursue peace with all men, and, without which no one will see the Lord." (Hebrews 12:14).

It is very difficult for people to have conflict with others who will not fight! This does not mean that we should make peace at any cost by denying truth. We can remain faithful to truth without going to war, though it might appear costly at the moment. Jesus and many others have done it.

Sometimes, it is the difficulties of our lives that will interfere with our peace. There are trials and tribulations that we are going through that keep getting bigger and larger than life. We wonder sometimes, what we have done wrong? Then we start doubting ourselves and pretty soon we begin to doubt God's ability to overcome. Most of the times, our trials have nothing to do with our faults and errors. They are often prompted by God, who is putting our faith through a test, we have to remain firm and trust in God's word, regardless of what the situation look like, because it is not by might, not by power but by my spirit, says the word of God. We have to understand this or we will get discouraged. WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT CHRIST ALREADY "OVERCOME". That means YOU have victory over sins, YOU have victory over diseases, YOU have victory over rejection, YOU have victory over YOUR finances, YOU have victory over YOUR personal relationships, YOU have victory over depression and emotional brokenness, YOU have power over your addictions, YOU have peace in the midst of your storms because Christ overcome the world.

Friend, You cannot lose when you place your faith in God. Now charge your spirit up with the word of God and walk in victory by faith and you shall overcome.

Praise the Lord!

Peace of God

Psalm 4

1 Answer me when I call to you,
my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods[b]?[c]
3 Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the LORD hears when I call to him.

4 Tremble and[d] do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous
and trust in the LORD.

6 Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”
Let the light of your face shine on us.
7 Fill my heart with joy
when their grain and new wine abound.

8 In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, LORD,
make me dwell in safety.
