How Much Are You Worth?

"Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." Acts 20:28

For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19

All the money in the world could not pay for our freedom. Friend, you and I must be extremely valuable because we were bought by the blood of Christ. Dear friend, your bank account balance, your race and your Ivy league education do not determine your value but the blood of Jesus does. Maybe you are the only one in your family without a professional degree, you could be the only one without a bank account but there is no comparison to your worth in blood. You are valuable, worthy of Christ love and worthy of dying for. Glory to God! The highest ransom ever recorded in history was for you. All hope of heaven and forgiveness of sin are based upon the blood of Jesus Christ and in his humiliating death on the cross. "Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Heb. 9:22

Friend, the blood of Jesus changes your destiny. When you become born again you were forever changed and when you start turning your life around you will lose certain friends and family members is a minor price to pay. The blood sacrifice reunites God and you (Col. 1:20-22, Eph. 2:16. The sacrificial blood of Christ (Jn 3:16) should mean something to you for it did cost our heavenly Father to sacrifice His only Begotten Son. At Calvary, God separated Himself from His Son, in order that we might never be separated from Him. People think that there could be no redemption because of everything they have done and I am telling you that nobody is too sinful; nobody is too far astray that the blood of Christ cannot cleanse and save. "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18). You are worth something big. You were not bought at a discounted or marked down price. Christ paid the full going price on the cross. Glory to God! It doesn't matter what anybody thinks about you, and it does not matter what you think about yourself. You are a WORTHY member in the family of God.

I share with you on previous occasions the challenges I faced with my caffeine addiction phase and I can assure you that when people try to break any addiction, they will go through a period where they have intense cravings for just one more, but it is important to break free in order to be healthy but then come the withdrawal symptoms (those are the worst) the headaches, dizziness, shakes and the over all sick feeling are terrifying and this is because the body has adjusted to the poison, and it literally feels as if it cannot survive without it. Coming out of it was a very painful experience. Many people don't quit their bad habits because of the withdrawal symptoms period.

What is your struggle: is it alcohol, sex, love of drugs and/or money? The blood of Christ can set you free. It is time to start acting like the special, worthy child of God that you are. Turn away from sinful lifestyle is not easy but you can do it. All relationships require some sort of sacrifices. It's time to turn away from the things that are keeping you from having a relationship with Christ. The withdrawal symptoms are not fun but It would be more painful at the end if you keep feeding the addiction. In my case, with efforts and prayers I conquer my addiction. I still crave it but it has become easier to resist. It has been many years since I successfully triumphed over the caffeine addiction, but just last night I was tempted to have just a (little) sip. You know what I am saying? It is the same with our sinning habits. Once you start making an effort to change, it will be difficult at first but it will become easier to resist with time. You may stumble here and there (withdrawal symptom) but the Holy Spirit will help you get back up (victory).

Dear friend, you are a worthy child of God, start living as such. Will you tell someone struggling with self esteem issues, and/or caffeine, alcohol, sex addiction about the blood of Christ today? The blood set all captives free.

Praise the Lord!
