Children Need Guidance.......

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Truly, I was formed in evil, and in sin did my mother give me birth. Psalm 51:5

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Children need training. Psalm 51:3 tells us that inside every one of them is a sinful nature and it begins expressing itself almost immediately after birth. Parents have the responsibility to show them how to live right. Therefore, parents are not only challenged to teach children to do the right thing, they also have the obligation to punish them when they do the wrong thing. If parents do not punish their children when they are young, then the children will punish them for sure in the future. I see red when a parent let a child gets away with terrible behavior. A wise parent trains up a child in the way He should go. Not according to the parent's will for the child, but according to God's will. Children should be trained in ways that lead them to develop a hunger for God and are internally motivated. Parents must raise the children right. Parents who do not discipline their children because they don't want to make them unhappy are setting themselves up to be disappointed in the future and they are setting the children up for failures and worst of all, they are in disobedience to God. To train the children young is a command from God and not a suggestion.

The Bible offers 5 good reasons to discipline our children:
* To Remove Foolishness - Pro. 22:15
* To Rescue From Judgment - Pro. 23:13-14
* To Receive Wisdom - Pro. 29:15
* To Relieve Anxiety - Pro. 29:17
* To Reflect God's Character - Heb. 12:10-11

By following God's word we can raise children who avoid evil and serve God faithfully. Bible principles about child raising are very critical. The subject of raising children deserves careful study by almost everyone. Are you a young person, not yet married? Almost certainly someday you will be a parent or will work with children in some capacity. Acts 20:27 implies that Christians must teach "the whole counsel of God." That includes Bible teaching about parenthood. All of us need to learn this, no excuses. So if you have children or ever will have them, and even if you don't have them, as a Christian you need to know God's will. Allow me to remind you that it is far easier to build a child that to repair and adult and friend, please allow the Lord to help you to do everything in your power to be the best parents you can be to the children He entrusted you with, for His glory.

Praise the Lord!
