The Gift of Self..........

"Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you". Luke 6:38

Why don't we just give? In fact, let's just give without an expectation of getting something in return. People don't give because they believe that they have nothing to offer. Our society thinks of giving in terms of money. In reality we have so much to offer. We can give our love, our time, our services, our talents and ourselves.There are those who will abuse it but do not let anything stop you. Be a giver. Christ is our example and He was the ultimate giver. He gave His life. What a gift!

Are you a parent who help your children with their homework daily, but your next door neighbors don't know how to read or write? Then invite their kids over and tutor their children along with yours. Are you a person with distinguished business sense? Then help your friends who seem to fail at every business venture. Are you a married couple who have had success in keeping the peace in your marriage? Then help your friends who are struggling with their relationships. You always have what it takes to give of yourself. For in every situation, there is something valuable and positive that you can offer.

Do you have a family? Then invite a few single friends over to dinner after church instead of talking behind their back. Your invitation may keep them from making a mistake. The best gift you can give is to give of yourself. Your time, your attention, your love and caring are far more valuable than anything that could be wrapped up in a brightly colored box with a bow on top.. When you give of yourself you discover how very effective you can be. When you give of yourself someone else receives great benefit, and so do you.

I am sure you would find something to give, if you try hard enough. I am sure your help will be appreciated. The gift of "self' is the best gift one can ever give or receive... God Himself has given us the gift of life through His son Jesus Christ.

God is the ultimate Giver. He expects nothing less than for us to follow His example. I challenge you to give away something every day of your life. You may think you won’t have anything left if you do that, but if you give as the Lord leads you to do, soon you will receive so much that you will have to figure out where to put it all. God gives you bread to eat and seed to sow (See 2 Corinthians 9:10). Some things that God sends your way are given as seed for you to sow into the lives of others. Ask God to show you what He wants you to give away. Step out today, and look for a way to give. God will bless and prosper you as promised.

Praise the Lord!

Oh The Blood of Jesus!

I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.Psalm 116: 1
The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:9

Answer my prayers, O LORD, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful. Psalm 69:16

People don't always believe it but The enemy really tries to dominate and control everything. From our thoughts, to our actions and ultimately our entire life. However, the good news is that Jesus has control over him, Hallelujah! The enemy has to submit to the authority of Jesus. Jesus went about healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). Jesus came, and died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day for our freedom. The devil no longer have any power over those who are in Christ. As Christians, you and I have been crucified with Christ and He now lives inside of us. When we cry He hears us. We do not have to ask Him to hear us. He cares. He is paying attention. He watches over us continuously which means He does not stop. He is actively watching, protecting, delivering and loving His people. You and I are under 24 hours 7 days a week, around the clock surveillance. We paid nothing for it. Jesus paid it all with His blood. Praise Him.

Psalm 34:17 says "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."  When we cry out to Him, He hears us and He actually delivers us. The devil's effort to attack your body and your finances are vain. His efforts were nullified at Calvary. The enemy may try to prove he has legal rights to attack but his arguments are voided. Oh, the blood of Jesus! He is able and WILLING to save completely those who come to God through him. Even before Satan attacks the end result was already known: Victory is yours! The enemy has no legal rights or authority over those who have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. Listen, because every child of God belongs to Jesus nothing (diseases, pain, lack) has the right to separate you or keep you from experiencing the love of God. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Mathew 28:18

Friend submit to God. Accept His forgiveness through the Blood of Jesus Christ His son and you will never have to wonder if He hears you another day of your life.

I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.Psalm 118:21

Praise the Lord!

Psalm 111

1 Praise the LORD.

I will extol the LORD with all my heart
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.

2 Great are the works of the LORD;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
5 He provides food for those who fear him;
he remembers his covenant forever.

6 He has shown his people the power of his works,
giving them the lands of other nations.
7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy.
8 They are established for ever and ever,
enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemption for his people;
he ordained his covenant forever—
holy and awesome is his name.

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise.

Psalm 68

1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.

4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds[b];
rejoice before him—his name is the LORD.
5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
6 God sets the lonely in families,[c]
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

7 When you, God, went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,[d]
8 the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain,
before God, the One of Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.
9 You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor.

11 The Lord announces the word,
and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:
12 “Kings and armies flee in haste;
the women at home divide the plunder.
13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,[e]
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold.”
14 When the Almighty[f] scattered the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.

15 Mount Bashan, majestic mountain,
Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,
16 why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,
at the mountain where God chooses to reign,
where the LORD himself will dwell forever?
17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.[g]
18 When you ascended on high,
you took many captives;
you received gifts from people,
even from[h] the rebellious—
that you,[i] LORD God, might dwell there.

19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
20 Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.
21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
22 The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,
23 that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,
while the tongues of your dogs have their share.”

24 Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.
25 In front are the singers, after them the musicians;
with them are the young women playing the timbrels.
26 Praise God in the great congregation;
praise the LORD in the assembly of Israel.
27 There is the little tribe of Benjamin, leading them,
there the great throng of Judah’s princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.

28 Summon your power, God[j];
show us your strength, our God, as you have done before.
29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.
30 Rebuke the beast among the reeds,
the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
31 Envoys will come from Egypt;
Cush[k] will submit herself to God.

32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
33 to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders with mighty voice.
34 Proclaim the power of God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35 You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.

Praise be to God!

Psalm 102

Psalm 102

1 Hear my prayer, LORD;
let my cry for help come to you.
2 Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress.
Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly.

3 For my days vanish like smoke;
my bones burn like glowing embers.
4 My heart is blighted and withered like grass;
I forget to eat my food.
5 In my distress I groan aloud
and am reduced to skin and bones.
6 I am like a desert owl,
like an owl among the ruins.
7 I lie awake; I have become
like a bird alone on a roof.
8 All day long my enemies taunt me;
those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
9 For I eat ashes as my food
and mingle my drink with tears
10 because of your great wrath,
for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 My days are like the evening shadow;
I wither away like grass.

12 But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever;
your renown endures through all generations.
13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion,
for it is time to show favor to her;
the appointed time has come.
14 For her stones are dear to your servants;
her very dust moves them to pity.
15 The nations will fear the name of the LORD,
all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
16 For the LORD will rebuild Zion
and appear in his glory.
17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute;
he will not despise their plea.

18 Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
19 “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death.”
21 So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
assemble to worship the LORD.

23 In the course of my life[b] he broke my strength;
he cut short my days.
24 So I said:
“Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;
your years go on through all generations.
25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
28 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you.”
