Merry Christmas!

"You will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end" (Luke 1:30-33.

Every person on earth has someone or something that he serves. Every person gives priority to something or someone in his/her life, and that someone or something becomes evident in the things each person looks for, lives for, works for and strives for daily. People give great importance to what they serve. There are some people, for example, who live for pleasure and so they seek it above everything else. They give it the highest priority in their life. They enter each and situation with only the objective of getting pleasure from it. To some is the search of a spouse that consumes them and those who are already married believe that such noble things as spouse, home, and children are the only thing to live for. They live for them, and constantly look for opportunities to improve the family life.

Some people live for the fine arts: theater, art, music, concerts, literature others live for food. To most, it is the endless pursuit of power, I know people who bend every effort into making a dollar. In their blind pursuit of things they are willing to sacrifice health, family, friendship, the church, and more importantly they sacrifice a relationship with God. I want you to answer a most basic question: Is He my Savior, do I acknowledge Him as God, do I submit to His rule? We are my being called upon to make a choice: between Jesus and the distractions of today's world. Let me ask you, who is your savior, your god, and your king? Or, to put in simple language whom do you serve? Whose kingdom are you a part of? If your answer is the Kingdom of God, then your life must be a reflection of His glory. God should be the dominant force over your life. Everything you are and do should be a direct result of being a child who honors his Father, the Almighty God.

The past couple of years have been tough one on Christianity. It's been difficult to even wish a "Merry Christmas" to people on the streets. We are told to wish them all a "Happy Holiday". The world is trying to take Christ out of Christ-mas. It is imperative that you decide right here and now, who the reason is for this season. It is time to stand for your convictions. "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness" (Mt 6:33), was said by Jesus Himself. So allow me to ask you again, who are you serving? Who do you love the most? Who occupies the place of honor in your heart? Who shares your private thoughts? Who makes your heart sings? Who do you run to at first sign of trouble? Who's your secret weapon in the fights of your life? Who fills your heart with warm, comforting joy in time of extreme adversity? What if I were to ask the people closest to you, what would their answer be?

Before you hit the road this morning and start wishing a "Merry Christmas" here and there, let me ask you one final time, do you know what you are saying? You are saying that Christ is the most important, influential part of your life. You are saying that He is your Savior, your God, and your King. You are saying that He is the sweetest part of your existence. You are saying that He came to this world with the noble mission to save humanity and He fulfilled it to perfection. He died, resurrected and ascended to heaven, where He is right now, sitting at the right of the Father pleading your causes and preparing a place for you so that "YOU" yes "YOU" can be with Him in glory one day soon.

As you wish to all a "Merry Christmas" remember what a privilege it is to be able to say it and pleased remember whose sacrifice made it possible. You may not be perfect, God knows you and I have flaws, and we don't know much but we acknowledge without reservation that Jesus is indeed the reason for this season.

May the grace of Our Mighty Father be with you this Christmas season may the joy of the resurrected King of kings filled you to overflow! May the Hope of heaven be your comfort from now and eternally! May the awareness of CHRIST become or/and remain the driving force in your life! Have a blessed and Happy Christmas! God loves you.

Praise the Lord!
