Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Many parents are too busy making a living to actual raise their children. They count on the day care centers, the schools, the teachers to do the teaching but the Bible instructs that it is the homes that should be the training ground. Although Ephesians 6:4 is a popular passage that speaks of the responsibilities of fathers, there are other passages addressing the mothers as well (2 Timothy 1:5, Titus 2:4, and 1 Timothy 2:15, 1 Timothy 5:14).
Don't leave it up to the ungodly education system to teach your children right from wrong for it is a mandate from God for you to handle the teachings. There is a reason why God places you in their lives. Being a parent is a big deal that comes with major responsibilities. The greatest one is showing them the love of God. Remember the main objective is to save their soul from “God's wrath or eternal separation from God or hell.
Friend, your children need a prayer life, a study life, a family life, and a life of service in the Lord to fortify them for the rest of their lives. Take them to a solid Bible believing church. Allow them to be taught by other godly adults and experience the joys of worship. Strengthen your children with the knowledge that they are not alone in their faith walk. They need to understand, through your teachings, that their lives have meaning and purpose in the kingdom of God, and they must learn this truth early. You must transfer your love for God and reliance upon Scripture to your children. There will be a time when you no longer be around but God’s Word is active, alive and will last forever and is an infinite resource of knowledge, hope, and insight for your child today, tomorrow, and forever.
Instill the love of God in your children’s heart. As a Christian parent, your greatest desire should be for your children to know and to love God and for your children to walk in His ways. Have devotional time with your family. Read the Bible with them. My heart aches when I meet with parents who don’t make the Bible a daily part of their children’s lives. They need to catch you reading your Bible and spending time in prayer. They must know that God is your first stop in the morning. They must know that God is your source. The best lesson is how you live your own life.
Praise the Lord!
