A New Day!

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

God does not only want us keep on talking about what He has done so many years ago. He wants us to talk about what He is doing today and what He will be doing tomorrow. How many times in life have we started a new year without realizing the goals we had set before us or even taken the time to evaluate why those goals weren't made? We cannot live on yesterday's blessings nor should we dwell on yesterday's failures and disappointments. This is a time to forget the past and move forward into the present and the future.

I believe that there is a dire need to say goodbye to things that are holding us back from fully experiencing God’s given life. What kinds of emotional, financial or spiritual clutter are we holding onto? What do we need to let go of in order to make room for new possibilities? What are some of the things we need to leave behind? I believe just saying that anything in our lives that keep us from fully focusing on the Lord should be left behind can sum it up. Being a Christian is a serious thing. It means to always be going forward. The Christian life is referred to as a walk. We talk about our walk in life; our walk of faith; and walk with the Lord. By its very nature, walking means putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward. . And as we move forward, we are always doing two things: We leave one place behind and step into another. It would be weird to see someone walking the other way around. As we walk (moving forward) let us leave behind those parts of ourselves that are hindering our spiritual growth.

Above our consciousness the Lord is gently guiding our thoughts and feelings. Our desire to start over and to do better comes straight from God. I believe it is always God's desire that we be filled with a sense of newness of what He desires and wants to accomplish through us. He desires greatly for us to be filled with a renewed sense of purpose and destiny. Every day in the Lord should be a day of new beginning. What kind of goals and plans will you make today? Will you choose to seek to serve Christ and His Kingdom in a greater way? While we are not au courant of it God is inspiring new ways of looking at life. The Lord is working with our spirits so that we are renewed every moment of every day. The fact is, there are new beginnings in our lives all the time. My dear friend, don’t let the enemy make you believe that it is too late. You can begin again this moment.

Friend, you can choose to feel trapped by the past, your mistakes, and failures or dulled by routines. Or you can make today your new beginning. A newness of life can be born in any situation any time, anywhere and especially now for “Today is the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Praise the Lord!
